Cool air when you need it
Comfort, and a clear windshield
Your AC cools the air and also removes moisture, which helps clear a fogged-up windshield. It's a sealed system with a compressor, condenser, evaporator and refrigerant, so when it stops cooling there's usually a cause to find, such as a leak or a part that isn't working.

Common causes include low refrigerant (usually from a leak), a compressor or fan that is not working, or an electrical problem. Checking the system shows which.
A little clear water under the vehicle while the AC runs is usually normal condensation. Water inside the cabin is not, and can mean a blocked drain.
Vehicle AC systems are under pressure, and in the US technicians who service them must be certified to handle refrigerant. If the system is low, there is usually a leak that needs finding.
